60 year old male in acute, antalgic position presents to office with severe low back pain.
Before and after xrays are below. Subluxation is associated with abnormal muscle contraction and can put the lumbar spine into flexion. Once subluxation was corrected, his body aligned himself more normally. See video for more details.
Lateral shows significant decrease in flexion of the lumbar spine. Note: Cervical spine curve greatly exaggerated on pre due to antalgic posture. The only way he was able to stand was with his neck extended to be able to fit on the picture. Check angle of palatine plate. ALSO: The LATERAL view does not show up properly on mobile devices.
Pre shows 30 mm shifted to right of plumb line at C2. Post shows 25 mm shift, 16% reduction.
